Stargate: Universe will finish its second season (because it's already in the can), but they were not renewed. Solutions article

David Blue heard from his publicist, who got the news online. Not telling the cast personally? Shameful.

I had stopped watching, but I have several friends who still watch. I'm sorry.

I suppose I should get a Universe icon. Hmm. This will take some thought—more than I'm willing to give it tonight. Spoilers for 'Subversion' )

Brilliant Husband just called me in to see an ad that ran during his show; conveniently, it's on YouTube:
(30 second promo for Psych and White Collar)

OMG! Now I want Psych back! Gus, you are my man! Plus now I want to see White Collar!

When can I fit in White Collar, though?
1. We just heard that Chuck has been renewed; we're still on s2. Must finish s2, then mainline the DVDs of s3 (if available) before s4 starts in the fall.
2. I returned to the fold and resumed watching SGU (thoughts on that later—remind me, 'k?).
3. We're (re)watching Greatest American Hero (I saw it all, I think; BH saw much of it, but it's been years, and dang but it's still funny).
4. Soon Psych will return, and
5. I'll probably go back to Warehouse 13.
6. Oh, and there's Glee (known in our house as The Kurt and Mercedes Show; who's with me on this?)
7. Of course, we still have Big Bang Theory.
8. We're watching Leverage even more slowly than rewatching GAH; I think we're averaging one episode of Leverage every six weeks or so.
9. We haven't yet seen s3 of Slings and Arrows.
10. I'm sure I'm forgetting things, but those may be the shows people have urged me to start (West Wing, Man from UNCLE, I Spy) that we haven't actually started. (We watched one episode of I Spy, but I have to finish the rewatch of GAH before I do more of that, or I'm going to have some serious cognitive dissonance. I had enough difficulty with that one episode as it was. Not enough to stop me from watching more at some point, however.)

When did I last have this many shows at once? What the heck am I doing with a job? Clearly, I need to stop and just start watching shows full time! Ah—but then it might get hard to pay for cable and Netflix. Catch-22.

Back to the salt mines. (I get paid to read Old English. I don't complain too much about that!)

Just watch the little promo above.

I guess I'm back aboard the Destiny.

By the way: what's with the one-word titles? It sounds rather Blake's 7 to me, except that B7 never managed that many one-word titles.

Spoilers ahoy through last night's 'Sabotage' )

Well, obviously, the answer is always tv, but the question is what tv.

Stargate: Universe
For my friends who are still watching SGU: should I really get into the second half of the season? (I know most of you aren't; this question isn't directed at anyone who hasn't seen last Friday's episode.) Will it make me feel better about the show, or just miserable? My comments about previous episodes are here (if anyone is interested); suffice it to say that the one episode I liked was "Time," and I thought that was really smart. That was good viewing. I don't feel the same about any other episode of it.

We have Friday's ep on the DVR, we'll get another tonight, and it's time to fish or cut bait. (Or is that poop or get off the pot?)

Primeval
I'd decided: why watch a show that will just make me miserable? I don't need two more (half or quarter) seasons of Primeval, because Spoilers! ))

Now, however, comes news that might bring me back for seasons 4 and 5: Cut for casting spoilers )

It's not that I don't have tv. If these shows don't work out, I can watch things that I know make me happy, like The John Casey Show, or Greatest American Hero; I rewatched "The Hit Car," and, by golly, that's a silly show with bad sfx, but it's still laugh-myself-off-the-couch-funny. (And I might possibly be a little bit in love with Robert Culp, which is doubly unfortunate because a) he's too old for me and b) he's dead.)

I've been meaning to post about a few tv shows for ages. I have fifteen minutes until dinner. This is an excellent time to make a post that is not so long that people won't read it! Spoilers may lurk behind any and all cuts. So may complaints.

Eastwick )

Oh, crud—fifteen minutes already? One more: Stargate:Universe )

We're still watching SGU. I half like it, and the other half is driving me crazy. Okay, I'm not really sure about the proportions. I will provide convenient cuts to things I like and dislike separately so that you can read only the ones you want. (Please don't read the ones you don't want and then tell me what a fool I am for watching, because I already know that!)

Here's what's driving me freaking nuts )

I do like some things! )

Before I get into SGU, I just have to say that I love these poll results. Clearly, I think I'm kind of clever writing poll options, but I'm really tickled that though I gave nine choices, over half the respondents chose "How should I know? I haven't seen it, but I have a compulsion to take polls." I do too!

So more on the strength of [livejournal.com profile] aurora_novarum's power of persuasion than from sheer numbers, BH and I let Monk wait another day (or three) and fit in SGU last night. Spoilers in reaction )
