TW fanfic rec

Go! Read it! It's very nearly done (I've seen the final chapters already!), and TW fans should enjoy it. She has Chapter 2 up as well (I'm a bit behind). I'm often very ambivalent about original characters; some authors do them well, some badly. We've got a really good OC here: I became quite fond of Robert very early. Palmface gives us a post-"Exit Wounds" fic that's not maudlin but doesn't deny the traumas and the lingering pain and fear either. We get an outsider's view of the madness that is Torchwood 3, but other chapters give us team viewpoints. We see Ianto mouthing off (never to be missed) and some great scenes with Jack (being very Jack, in both good and bad ways), plus some other character moments--you'll see. Go read.

(I was beta-reader for this, but that is certainly not the only reason I'm recommending it.)

I don't really read DW/TW fic, but since you recommended it, I decided to give it a go. Just finishe the first chapter, and you're right, it is pretty good! *g*

Oh, good! I avoid DW fic because I'm so terribly attached to the show; I've just read so much BAD DW fic on teh interwebs that I can't stand it.

I do like good TW, though!

I occasionally read DW that friends have recommended, but not often.

I avoid DW fic completely* because I have a very specific idea in mind of How Things Should Be, and basically, I don't trust anyone to do it the way I see it in my head, so I'm just as well staying clear. As for TW, I'm not attached enough to it to go looking for the fic.

However, I completely missed the bit in which you mentioned that it wasn't finished!! I'd've waited if I'd know that was the case - there's no way I'll have mind to go back and read the end!

* I think I've read a couple of DW fics, but only because friends wrote them.
