A friend of mine has been talking about when one uses "blond" as opposed to "blonde," and, if she permits, I'll link to that discussion later. I was very surprised to find there are at least two different sets of rules in operation, and I'm curious about where and when people learned the different versions to see if it's regional, generational, or something else. I've tried to create a poll that won't skew the answers.

In the spirit of linguistic study and History of the English Language, there are no wrong answers. I don't want to know what the rules are (since I now know at least two different sets) so much as how you use them. If you follow rules, feel free to quote them; if you go more by the seat of your pants, feel free just to give examples.
