I might regret asking this, but what's the ultimate source of the left-hand side of that icon?

(pfft--now I have to be sure I don't have this page up on my screen when Small Child comes around! :O They say children should always use computers in full view of parents; what are the parents supposed to do? I was watching the clip from Ten-Inch Hero that or_mabinogi had up the other night, and guess when Small Person walked in? Right at the start of "I'm getting laid! I take it downtown every night!" I thought she was off doing something! Bad mom.)

Both sides of the icon come from a movie called "Century Hotel." The concept is stories are all set in the same hotel room, just in different decades, and the movie cuts back and forth between them. David plays a WWII vet.

There's an 11 second clip over at You Tube to give you the idea of the Slasher Squee Factor (note, Small Child should be out of the room), but the scene in my icon isn't there.

Since the film is basically combining multiple stories, his section is about about 10 minutes or so, so if that little taste leaves you wanting more, I'm certain it can be arranged. (Translation: Have some candy, little girl. *g*)

Now, see, that's what I wanted! I was really hoping for Teyla (tough, smart, but has some sense of humor; generally kind but doesn't suffer fools), and I would have been quite satisfied with Carson (deeply empathetic but frequently whiny--hey, that sounds like me, right?). But noooo....

I can even see myself as close to Radek (dear Radek!) and Weir, but I don't know how I get Sheppard.

I can see you as Weir or Carson.

(You know I originally picked the name as something I would remember, just for Get in the Gate? Then, of course, I had to start commenting on the SciFi boards, and one thing led to another; I'm just too fond of the name to change it, even if no one can spell or pronounce it. Hey, I'm special.)

Oh, I love Rodney! And maybe I'm not so happy because I'm too afraid I am him! I don't have the vast superiority complex (or the bad family history), but I do tend to be self-centered and whiny. Plus, I'm very smart. :-)

I was really rather hoping for Teyla--smart, strong, sensible, compassionate, nobody's fool--or, failing Teyla (too much to hope for!) for Carson: smart, compassionate, sensitive, whiny, and fearful. I'd have been happy with Weir, too. My second highest score was Sheppard, which I don't get at all.

Brilliant Husband got Sheppard, and he's very pleased. This is, of course, after he made me tell him who I thought he'd be, and I came up with Radek for him: brilliant but not the flashiest, funny, wily (evading capture by the Marines! yeah!), cute . . . I'm not sure he was happy with my answer.
