Logic (or lack thereof) tends only to bother me if other things already bother me. I'm willing to give DW a lot of leeway because it's more fantasy than SF. I want it to be a kids' show still! I don't want young women throwing themselves at the alien who is centuries old.
You may be right about the tone changing. RTD put a lot of death and destruction into it, didn't he? I could do with less death! (Of course, the bishop and his whole army died; all the "students" in "Vampires of Venice," plus the one father . . . I'm still waiting on this one.)
