. . . so I did the Fanfic Personality test.
Note: I fixed a little of the grammar in my result because it bothered me too much the way it was.
What I haven't seen anyone else relate in doing this are the more detailed results:
You scored 57% on Slasher, higher than 52% of your peers.
Oh my gosh: I blame Mabi, Nialla, and Lunie, probably in that order. And Kristen. And some others. I am so not a slasher. (Okay, Jack and Ianto—but that's canon!)
You scored 63% on Weirdo, higher than 49% of your peers.
No real surprise here, is there?
You scored 72% on TrueFan, higher than 58% of your peers.
What? Only 72%? Maybe I need my OCD icon here. I thought I'd do better!
Then again, my original character in my Primeval AU is really taking off . . . in the installments none of you except
dudethemath have seen yet. Tell them, Dude!
You scored 66% on Mindgamer, higher than 41% of your peers.
That's nice. I do like to think I'm creative.
You scored 57% on BarelyFF, higher than 46% of your peers.
I'm not entirely sure what this means. Barely Fanfiction.net? Then I think I should have scored higher. If it means something else, please clue me in!
You scored 35% on Immature, higher than 24% of your peers.
I'm 35% immature? Clearly, the test is flawed. It's based on my answers, and not on my stories: "My Dinner with Vala" (SG-1) features bathroom humor; "Better Than Revenge" (SG-1) features . . . well, it's at the very end, and I don't want to give it away; and "Fresh Scars" includes head injury humor and a scene that involves people mistaking two straight men for gay. Hmm. I think Primeval is actually decreasing my maturity. (And just wait until the new novella. Yes, I know I keep saying that. Bother
dudethemath, my first beta.)
Very interesting. Did anyone else look at their detailed results? I'm curious about those, but I haven't noticed any of my friends posting them!
Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test...
The True Fan
OOC is blasphemy, canon is everything.
Once you fall in love with a movie, book or TV series, you are loyal like an old dog. You take fanfiction quite seriously and use it as a substitute after the canon run out.
You are probably a walking dictionary of your favourite fandom and you are picky about what you write and read. The closer to the "real thing" fanfiction is, the more you like it.
You would rather explore a character in all depth, see new sides and learn more about them than creating new characters or mix up the situations they are in.

The breakdown was something like:
42% Slasher (Ehh, I can see it)
46% Weirdo (That's rather low...)
75% True Fan (That high?)
69% Mindgamer
60% BarelyFF (I have no idea what that means either... barely fanfic at all?)
37% Immature, which is rather surprising

Oh! And for my immaturity, I forgot that scene in "The Unrelenting Past" where Sheppard starts playing around with the term "straight man" (with Ronon's help).

*G* Based off the size of the first, I had a feeling that would be the case. Bring it ON!

Yep, that's why I said 'helping' *G* - I am far too sweet and innocent a moppet to be capable of singlehandedly leading anyone astray in such a manner!
(How does that quote go? 'Lead me not into temptation... I can find the way myself!)

I did the test and it annoyed me so much that I didn't post the results (the grammar and the way slash had been bunged in with mpreg and other things). I got the true fan result as well . . .

Primeval's interesting, I think, because there are a lot of pairings. Left to my own devices, I'd probably only write Stephen/Ryan and S1 Nick/Stephen. Writing birthday fic and prompts for people where there are other pairings is a good test of my writing skills *g*.

////I only see slash in certain fandoms -- probably why Primeval is only my second after Pros *g*.////
Same here - Horatio and Archie in "Hornblower", then Stephen and Nick in "Primeval". Those are pairings that I can see. Apart from that, my other favourite pairings or interactions have been het (like Mulder and Scully), friendship and in "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" the adoptive father and son bond between two of the main characters.
