I've actually liked the way it went the whole time. It's not always pleasant, but it always leads to tons of character development and new stuff. He's really kept it fresh. I think some of the fans might have preferred that it just stayed 'early days', but it was important that the stakes kept getting higher and things kept getting worse, especially since there was a specific end date.
