The only trouble with that is that I tend to avoid "18", assuming it's the same as "NC-17" (which it is in some people's minds, but not in others'!), unless I know the writer. Then I have to pick my way carefully, because I don't actually want to read porn. (I'm not traumatized if I do, however--a little squicked. For some reason, I don't like to read about sex. I do like the real thing, however!)
I do think it's better to mark something "18" that doesn't need it than not to mark something that way that does!
