Some of you may have heard about the discovery of a vast hoard of Anglo-Saxon gold that just broke into the news in the last 36 hours or so (I know ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
redbyrd_sgfic has, because she sent me links!). I have so many links now that I hardly know which to give you.
One-stop shopping: Staffordshire Hoard, set up by people at the Portable Antiquities Scheme; the page itself was set up in just a day, it says, so I expect it will get even better. I haven't even finished with it yet. (I do, however, take exception to their use of the term "Dark Ages." I don't even allow my students to say that.)
Also good: The Daily Mail account, with good photos; BBC account; and two Flickr pages: this one presents some of the best photos, and this one lets you watch the whole as a slideshow.
I'm so excited about the find that when Brilliant Husband came to ask if I wanted to watch tv, I kind of blew up and got loud instead of saying politely that I wanted more time online, and I managed to upset Small Child greatly in the process. I should probably get off the computer soon now.
