Brief update: been a bit busy, responding randomly to some posts (and virtually no e-mails) and putting other posts (and all e-mails) aside to read later. I haven't disappeared. Well, maybe I have, but I'll be back.

I *always* see these things when I'm at work, which usually means all I have at hand are quality manuals or test procedures. But at least this time the closest book is the one I'm reading. So. Hmm:

"Ironically, however despite his military background, Göring was not particularly military minded--strategically or operationally so, at any rate."

Well, I guess it's an improvement over quality manuals!
