I had a hard time believing that sarcasm was enough to keep Watney from losing it; I think Weil doesn't quite know how, or didn't have enough interest, to write the psychological effects of what happens to him.

I enjoyed it greatly, though, and I was impressed at the science. He also made it very understandable.

What a shame that Leckie's publisher is being difficult! I had no idea. I just got the trade paperbacks.
