I can't vouch for "arse ropes" personally (this requires more research), but forms of "rope" are well-attested for guts:

Middle English Dictionary
under
ars
. I should note that it's a perfectly legitimate medical term.

I can generally figure out the middle english. Old english is a lot harder, isn't it?

Oh, yes—Old English is basically a foreign language. It has four cases (a fifth occasionally), a fairly foreign vocabulary, and syntax quite a bit freer than ModE. It takes a good semester to get a reading knowledge of it.
