... for now, anyway... is to refer you to Brilliant Husband's blog. It's a spoiler; you have to have seen last night's episode for it to make sense: DudetheMath on the finale of BSG.

Thanks to everyone who reminded me of clichéd moments I'd forgotten, especially on Stargate and Farscape! There were so many I had to go back and update the list; I stuck with the original list and put in additions with proper credit. Please don't hesitate to suggest more or make corrections! I'm sure I'm still missing some, perhaps many! Have to be complete, have to be complete--no, I'm fine, how are you?

I must say I'm pleased to see at least a couple of people did the meme with my additions to the list of clichés, and I feel famous for having the first item on this week's [livejournal.com profile] sg1_debrief!

[livejournal.com profile] redbyrd_sgfic asked about my previous post, "Heh- the real question, how many of these are *canon* in Stargate?!" So I started thinking, and I couldn't stop: aren't these clichés popular partly because we've seen so many on the shows themselves? I'm most active in Stargate fandom, but I'll plug in others as they come to mind. Cliches on tv )

I have discovered that Brilliant Husband is not in fact always watching the same show I am (and here I thought all these Saturday nights he was watching the Jack and Ianto show too--you think you know a guy!). For your entertainment and enlightenment, he has graciously agreed to write a guest column.

Take it away, BH! )

From [livejournal.com profile] pepper_field, who got it from [livejournal.com profile] holdouttrout; it helps if you read "Your Friends Are Not Watching the Same Show You Are And That's Okay" first.

I'm pretty sure no one except maybe Brilliant Husband watches the same shows I do. I'm avoiding spoilers! See what I watch! )

Okay, I've finally had it. No more Battlestar Galactica for me. I've finally lost any remaining sympathy I had for any of the characters. There wasn't a defining moment (although the last thing I saw in the episode clinched the deal); I realized last night that I had already lost the last dregs of sympathy, I'm not even sure when.

Why couldn't I figure this out, oh, about three years ago? I want fifty-some hours of my life back!

On the upside, I've just saved eighteen hours to come. Brilliant Husband will tell me what develops in far less time that it would take to watch the show.

What a waste of a brilliant cast!

I can resist the tv meme no longer. [livejournal.com profile] moonshayde is the proximate cause, but several of my friends have done it.

By now, most of you have probably seen this, but I've got to give the link myself. I think [livejournal.com profile] wraithfodder was the first one to give it, in this wonderful post of links to two recent cons: yes, Creationnet gives us Joe Flanigan imitating . . . his own hair. It is not to be missed.

A bit more sobering, if I may use that term, is annosuperstar's "Alcohol" video, using the Barenaked Ladies' song with painfully funny and appropriate scenes fromBattlestar Galactica:

On that note, we watched Razor last night, the BSG movie, and I have a few thoughts on why I both like and get tremendously frustrated with BSG. Review, with spoilers and musings )
